My name is Jon. I'm in my fifties and have been riding for about ten years total. I currently ride a 2019 Suzuki V-Strom 1000A. As I've aged, I have embraced more and more of the motorcycle community, from groups and group riding to riding different terrain types and training courses, always learning.
As a part of the experience, I am learning that I enjoy chronicling my adventures. I found the Facebook platform limiting in the way that you can present a story and decided to create a blog to share them with whoever finds this. This act of blogging is a part of the motorcycling experience for me and I do it for the enjoyment of writing as much as anything else.
Adventure Riding
I've always loved to travel, always loved adventures and am always thinking about the places I want to see and the people I want to meet. Getting to those places and people means highways, small roads, gravel roads and occasionally trails, in other words - Adventure Riding.
Social Riding
I'm just someone who prefers to ride with other people. I like shared experiences and the enjoyment and laughs that come from them. I enjoy carving up the twisties and then comparing stories at the end of the road. I relish sitting around a table with food or beverages and talking motorcycles and experiences.
Learning
I strongly believe in perpetual learning. I am always watching videos. I attend at least one course per year. I am thinking about the next courses I want to take. I think about that last corner I took and how I could have done it differently or better. I watch others ride and listen to their advice.
